We are so close and we will meet our baby boy A blessing!
In two other blog posts, you can find data on Q1 and Q2. Now I will give you a summary of my experience, last trimester of pregnancy and final conclusions, now before the birth.
So, prepare yourself a few minutes to read the whole thing 🙂
Let’s start with my favourite subject:
Sport
I remained as active with all my classes and projects until week 30: that is 3-4 classes a day.
Then I cut back on classes, leaving me with only one a day (until week 34 of pregnancy). The traffic, sitting in the car, the hustle and bustle around me seemed more exhausting than the classes themselves, so I decided to give myself more time. And well done. Because we also went through a renovation/move, in the new cottage (those of you who have been through this, know how it is with workers, dust, chaos, etc).
I am currently doing adapted exercises + stretching.
I’ve traveled, I have projects that I’m still doing + online and custom programs that I’m working on. Quite active still, I might say 🙂
Currently, I still do 30 minutes of exercise, daily, depending on my condition. Either at home, exercising on the mat, or in the gym where I “play” with 2 dumbbells to exercise my upper arms. Theoretically we have 2 weeks to go before we meet the baby, basically whenever he wants :), sooner or later 🙂
Healthy & strong pregnancy programme
I have been told/written to by many people, to write a book about this whole stage/experience of mine, and I am glad there is interest, but I don’t know if I will succeed, although I have written all my experiences, and I would like to succeed. We’ll see. But I’m still in the area where I do best: Fitness & Health.
The online programme they are preparing for mothers-to-be, and then coming back after pregnancy, will be very varied and useful for those who want a balanced pregnancy and life, in all aspects. I know every task is different. You know all too well that I like to be a knowledgeable and prepared coach, but I also place as much emphasis on experience. That’s why I can now express myself much better when it comes to such a program.
I took a very balanced approach and enjoyed this period, but I also embraced the healthy and active lifestyle I had before, that’s why the pounds didn’t come on any more than they should have, my confidence and self-esteem level remained the same.
I’m also working on the website, and an app, so stay tuned.
Symptom
In the week 28-33 I experienced insomnia. Moms? Did you experience this in Q3? I used to fall asleep very hard, wake up very early. At first it was the discomfort created by trips to the bathroom and the difficulty turning from side to side, now that my tummy is even bigger. This toilet thing, I admit I’ve had it since the first month of pregnancy, so in a way I could say I’ve been doing my naptime training for when the baby comes.
In week 28-30 I started feeling hip pain and my pubic bone was bothering me a lot (I could barely walk ) I did the kegel exercises and started feeling better. Also those for breathing and strengthening the abdomen.
The body is preparing for birth, so we experience all sorts of reactions.
Otherwise I’m okay. The back pain, incidentally, has not been as severe and frequent as in the 1st to 2nd trimester. I massaged as often as I could and always made sure to moisturize enough, that’s why my skin looks good too, I say. 🙂
This was the period with most advice and guidance, but I tried to stay away from the ones that didn’t work for me, or just didn’t fit.
Phrases like “you’re going to explode” in the last month, you’re going to put “x”, you’re going to be like this, or the other way around, I left out. I am prone to gaining weight, but I knew that if I continued to be concerned about the quality of my diet and lifestyle, I would be fine. And it is! 🙂
Food
It was a balanced diet and adapted to my requirements and needs.
Many mums have asked me how many kilos I have gained. Yesterday I stepped on the scale and it was showing me 10kg (I’m 38 weeks and 5 days now).
I ate very healthy, because that’s how I felt good and that’s what my body was asking for, but you should know that I also ate pizza, ice cream or cake on my birthday (20 July) :)) , in the allowed quantities, “once in a while”.
What I mean is, that’s what I call balance. I post in real time on insta story.
Vitamins for pregnancy
Everything I did in this task was with the doctor’s consent.
After the consultation in which the pregnancy was confirmed, the doctor asked me what medication I am currently taking. My answer was: folic acid. I was told to continue with them, and that any further medication during pregnancy would only be with her recommendation. The lifestyle we have during pregnancy influences the baby’s health, so I try to be as careful as possible with everything I eat and add to my diet.
As folate requirements are increased in early pregnancy, the recommended folate intake for this period of 400 μg cannot be provided from the diet alone. Learning this, I supplemented my daily diet with Femibion Healthy Pregnancy 1, which contains folate (Metafolin® – the biologically active form of folic acid, directly usable by the body and folic acid), vitamin B complex, vitamin C and E, Iodine.
And this was the only supplement for the 1st trimester of pregnancy.
So, along with proper nutrition and a balanced lifestyle, every mother-to-be should also consider folic acid and other minerals, which can be found in higher concentrations in prenatal supplements.
In trimesters 2 and 3, we continued with Femibion Healthy Pregnancy 2 – the optimal combination of nutrients is recommended from the 13th week of pregnancy until the end of breastfeeding to ensure optimal intake of DHA (Omega 3) and to maintain the level of folate.
Since we are talking about an essential supplement at this time, of a woman, I leave you a link with more information about my recommendation: http://www.femibion.ro.
Because I had started having more and more episodes at night, when my calves were actually locking up (cramps) after week 34 I was prescribed to take magnesium, and from week 35 the doctor also prescribed iron.
ABCs of parenting course
I don’t know if you’re ever prepared enough for new milestones, even if you want them with all your heart. My husband and I took the ABCs of Parenting course at Queen Mary. This course has been divided into 3 stages: Pregnancy and Childbirth; Breastfeeding; Puericulture. It was a useful course, where we received essential information for our new adventure in 3.
These courses made me realize, that it’s not long now, that the time is coming. I’d be lying if I said that I’m still not afraid… it’s like a wave of excitement, enthusiasm, combined with fear of the moment of birth. But one thing’s for sure. I can’t wait to meet him, to come into our lives, and give him all the love.
I love him to death. I can’t wait to hold him.
I’ll end as usual:
Live active and healthy,
AB
