Yes. I know. I’m getting a little organized with my posts this time of year, but here I am with the text ready for my first post about pregnancy and baby 2.
WHEN I FIND
On 29 November the pregnancy test came back positive (after several attempts).
I sat and cried for a few minutes in the bathroom in happiness, then I told Dragos. We were very happy and excited.
I quickly made an appointment for a consultation at Queen Mary’s and on December 5 I heard her heart beating.

FIRST TRIMESTER – SYMPTOMS
From around week 5 of pregnancy the nausea started, and by week 6-7 it seemed to become even more intense.
I couldn’t eat anything and I was pretty cranky about it.. hmm and I guess not just.
I was sleeping at odd hours, feeling exhausted and nauseous seemingly non-stop. Nevertheless I continued all my activities (here I mean the classes I teach, projects, etc), which I tried to do as well, ignoring all the symptoms that “tormented” me in the beginning.
Obviously I waited until I had my first morphology (1st trimester of pregnancy) to share the news with more people 🙂
SOMN
I used to wake up at night from sleep and couldn’t get back to sleep, I was so sick. Compared to the first pregnancy, it seemed much more intense. Especially after 1.5 years with Rareș, where I didn’t sleep nights, it was pretty hard. Fortunately I am now starting to recover. I also told Rareș to let me sleep at night, to recharge my “batteries” for his little sister/round two :))
I also had pretty dusty immunity. I caught cold many times last winter. I think I had finished a jar of honey and many pounds of lemons, unable to take any medicine.
FOOD
I felt some differences in certain foods that I was tolerating or not tolerating in the two pregnancies.
Because of the nausea I was “comforted” and kept me hungry, only dry and salty pretzels, black bread with seeds, (so many calories that I was not used to), natural yoghurt or kefir (kefir yoghurt I consumed only in pregnancies).
The good part was that we ate a lot of fresh vegetables, salad, fruits, especially sour ones: berries, greph, lemons and oranges.
Soups and soups were the order of the day, and the chocolate “craving” was there too, but it seemed to be only in “sync” with the winter holidays.
After a few weeks of chaos, and specifically after I announced my pregnancy, I gradually started to feel better. Then I returned in a higher percentage to my healthy habits.
I’ve started measuring and weighing myself, but just to keep that in mind without creating an obsession.
I used to do it a lot more often with Rareș. But now I understand that you can’t gain 30 kg if you continue the habits you were used to before.
BABY #2?!
A lot of people have asked us if it was programmed or not.
Yeah. We really wanted Rareș to have a little brother or sister. None of us had “preferences” that people kept asking us: “what do you want it to be?”
However we are VERY HAPPY WITH THE NEWS : it’s a girl
I remember the morphology of trimester 1.
I got a little nervous when I saw the baby on the screen and burst into tears.
And then I heard the doctor say: you have a beautiful, healthy little girl.

Because I had a beautiful and successful experience, I obviously chose to give birth at Regina Maria and with the same doctor, Carmen Constantinescu. I feel safe and like everything is at my fingertips and familiar here 🙂

SPORT
As in the first task, sport was still a priority and a necessity. I continued with the programme I had before, without making any major changes. I avoided some types of crunches and that’s about it.
The changes in pregnancy movement come into play from the 2nd trimester, when the tummy starts to show and the body adjusts easily to the changes.
In the next post, I will tell you how things are going in the 2nd trimester of pregnancy.
Live active and healthy,
