This is what the picture looked like on January 3, 2018, when the pregnancy test was positive.
I woke up early and full of excitement. I felt an emptiness in my stomach, I knew and felt that I was going to see those two little lines that morning.
I had tears in my eyes and my mouth up to my ears. I couldn’t wait for my husband, Dragos, to wake up and tell him the big news. 🙂
I took the Check-In photo to mark the moment.
Although, usually, after the holidays, the time to get back into shape would follow, this time, the goal was completely different: to have an easy pregnancy and be healthy. So, darlings, pictures of the six pack next year 🙂
A doctor’s appointment followed to confirm it was a pregnancy, and within 7 days of that, we heard our angel’s heartbeat.
My first trimester experience
Every task is different.
The important thing is to go through this special experience in the most beautiful and healthy way. 🙂
The first weeks were ok. From week 5 the nausea has already started. Not in the morning, not in the evening, but all the time. But I didn’t throw up at all. Instead, I felt bloated, constipated and very tired.
At the gym I kept my classes going, although I dropped some of them permanently.
I was trying to mask the bad mood I was in, all the time, and I think I succeeded.
The beginning of the year was marked by events with both Herbalife and Adidas. On top of that, there have been a lot of requests for future projects and events, which I think we have handled with flying colours.
I had a hard time hiding my excitement and keeping the pregnancy a secret. I can’t wait to get through the first quarter so I can break the news to everyone.
Pregnancy and Nutrition
Of course, food preferences have also changed a little in this period. I can’t say I had those crazy cravings that some pregnant women talk about, but it seemed like my body was “craving” certain foods. Bread, be it black, homemade, wholemeal with seeds, is still bread. But my stomach, it demanded and accepted it best. So I ate bread with avocado and vegetables every day.
Soups and fresh vegetables such as carrots, cabbage, kale and celery roots were often my evening “munchies”.
I was feeling the need for carbs more than ever, and I listened to my body. If I hadn’t eaten I would have been too skinny and wouldn’t have been able to do my job at the gym in the first place. Fortunately, when I reached the feeling of hunger, even with nausea, I still managed to eat, and as I said above, I didn’t throw up at all.
This little guy wants to grow up, so he ate my vitamins, proteins, fats etc, and I tried to feed him as healthy as possible.
As for medication, I’m still only taking folic acid, on the doctor’s recommendation, obviously, but I’ll probably give it up in a month.
I hydrate well, I drink water all the time. For the first few months, I drank a lot of lemon ginger tea. Especially when I had morning classes at 7, it helps me get through the nausea easier.
I’m starting to sleep better. For the first few months I was waking up every 2 hours to go to the toilet. Now all these symptoms are starting to leave me alone, although the other day I woke up with new ones 🙂
Moms, how are you?
As for tests, I did everything the doctor gave me, nothing more. There are so many new things happening to me, so I didn’t want to do more than I had to, even though I got all sorts of suggestions from other moms.
For me it’s important to be healthy and to go through this period as I feel is best.
As for now… I’m in my 4th month and the nausea is gone, I’m eating much healthier, I’m back to my old habits and I’ve found sex 🙂
But this news I will give in my next post. So stay tuned!
Live active and healthy,
